SEO is one of the more critical aspects for any web site - at least if you want to be found in the search engines. The fact that Drupal is capable of being super SEO friendly is a great benefit. However, it doesn't do you much good to simply know that Drupal is SEO friendly. With modules like SEO Checklist from Volacci you can certainly walk through the myriad of possible SEO options.
In this video, I simply walk through one of the more powerful Drupal SEO modules. The Nodewords module is what allows you to communicate, to your prospective visitors, what your content actually is and why they should visit your site - specfically, via the Description meta tag. If you only get two things from this video; 1) know that you absolutely need to use the Description meta tag and probably Keywords too and 2) use Nodewords to make it happen!

Thanks to @kevron for pointing me to this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jK7IPbnmvVU from Matt Cutt's about Google's use of the meta keywords tag.
Great info, Thanks! But I'm still going to personally use it because you never know when they [Google] might want to use it again or if another search engine is using it, OR, somehow, someone decides to filter content based on it within an aggregation site. For the few seconds of time it takes to add it, I say it's worth it!
Thanks I would never believe that google is not using the meta tags.
Thanks for this great video.
Best regards
Dani

Drupal rocks - nice tutorial here on how to get the basics out of Drupal.
Hi, just watched your whole video. Thanks a million, this is exactly what I needed. It's a shame you made this before all the "verification code" stuff for google, bing and yahoo was made, might be something you could consider adding somehow... Thanks!
just another note, your captcha is incredibly difficult. It picked up on my website link and asked me to do the captcha - the first 2 times I failed the image test, then I finally got it with the audio captcha. Maybe tone down the toughness of the images if possible?
Thanks! Great work.
Thanks for the wonderful tips. Drupal is simply the best CMS out there and modules like these are very important for search engine optimizationseo.

I have been researching Drupal now for a couple of weeks and I have to say that I get more interested as I see the great tools it has to offer. I have always stuck to the traditional (Word Press, Joomla, etc), but I have seen many Drupal sites that are very SEO friendly.
Unfortunatly Metatags module is unable to insert meta tags when you use a views generated front page.
Nodes are working fine, it's the main views pane that is not getting the meta tags settings. Anyone knows how to solve this ?
Thanks for you video, loved it. I learn in drupal everyday.
I love drupal
