This series of 8 videos will walk you through the process of starting to develop a real Drupal module. Most of what the videos cover are techniques for accomplishing the process. There isn't as much covered about actual functions in the API and how to code. It's more about learning how to learn these things on your own.
There are a number of great tips (especially if you're using a Mac) for getting that all important inspiration going!

Hi, I just want to say that your videos are very good; both in quality and in information. Best I've seen so far! :-)

I'm from china ,just say thank you very much!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi,
Thanks for these great tutors!

Sorry to say this but you need to get to the point .You talk people to sleep!Mosterdseedmedia have great screen casts. it's wery well explaind in a 10 min video.
Also all that thing about searching ,drupal.org got great search for modules!
Get to the point !You explanation makes drupal complicated ,but it's not!
Thanks for your input. However, my impression, given the other comments on the site - which provide accolades for being comprehensive (especially for those who have never used Drupal before) - seem to indicate that we're all at different levels of understanding.
To be completely honest, I personally would not watch my own videos because I already understand what I'm talking about and they would seem slow/long to me. Alas, the videos are not made for someone with a strong understanding of Drupal. They are made for those who are newer. I've read comments on the MustardSeed site that have pointed out that he makes a few too many assumptions. These are things I try to cover.
I can certainly shoot videos which make certain assumptions and are shorter in length, and I will consider doing condensed versions of the videos in the future, but at some point this would have to become a paid service.
Despite comments which are both positive and negative, doing free videos indefinitely isn't really sustainable. This is evidenced by the fact that MustardSeed has had to stop doing their videos for the time being.
Regarding searching Drupal.org. The videos here were created well before Solr was even put into use and the methods can still prove useful.
Thanks for the feedback! It's always welcomed.
Matt
The videos are very helpful and it is better to be too in depth rather than not enough. He allows you to download the movies by right clicking on the link so perhaps you could download them and fly through the bits you already know about.
Matt,
Thanks for taking the time to make these great tutorials. I am new to Drupal so finding great content like this is a must. Keep up the great work.
Thanks
Wow thanks for those huge series about Building Drupal Modules. It is a very hard thing so some help from behind is always awaited. I have read everything for few times now, but I will definitely be reading it for the third time too, because it is a little bit complicated. Thanks for your hard work and I will be definitely waiting for other great publications from you in the nearest future.
Sincerely,
Graham Turnton
Thank you so much.. Your videos are of great help to me. I'm currently making a website for guitars using drupal. Guitar Specs www.guitarspecs.tk
Outstanding videos! You're a legend! There are truly few who make a difference to the world. The Internet has definitely improved from your input.
