Becoming a Drupal Themer is one thing, knowing how to simply adjust any Drupal Theme to fit your specific needs may be much easier than you think. All over the Internet, you can find a myriad of really good, cross-browser compatible themes.

Whether it's the free themes on Drupal.org, ThemeBot or a paid theme from Top Notch Themes, any theme can be adjusted to a degree that it becomes unique to your look and feel. If you need to theme custom parts of your website, such as Views you create and areas beyond what your chosen theme may provide, then outsourcing your theme development may be the route you need to take.

Swap Out Logo: 02 Making the swap

There are many ways in which you can change out the logo. The first way is to simply specify the path to the logo in the settings for the theme you are using. The second way is to change the file which is specified in the theme itself. The third way, and the one I went with, was to simply work with what was there an swap out the logo.png file.

That simple swap may be the only thing you need to do to find your new "coolness" factor on your own drupal site.

Video Series: Drupal Logo Swap Out

In order for me to get excited about a new project, I often need that visual stimulation that keeps me going. This leads me to the first step in the process of setting this site up. This step is "making it my own", which is essentially swapping out the logo - a pretty basic task.

For some designers out there, they can afford to take the time to do a theme from scratch and they'll use templates like Zen or Blueprint or Hunchbaque. For this site I opted for using Amadou a well respected theme from drupal developer Jay Wolf.

Starting with this theme I needed to make some basic changes and I also need to account for using the wonder Admin Menu. There are only two videos in this series so hopefully you'll get some great tips about how to start making a theme your own.

Swap Out Logo: 01 Getting ready

Before you can change out any Logo or any other elements, you first need to choose a theme (duh) and then design your logo around that theme. In this video, I talk about how I make my new logo and and give you a few Photoshop tips about getting your logo ready for the Drupal theme.
